Role Overview

Apply clinical publications expertise to help develop AI-assisted medical and scientific writing tools. You will provide high-quality, real-world input that helps AI systems learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Author and review realistic evaluation tasks drawn from peer-reviewed journal manuscripts, scientific abstracts, conference posters, and presentation decks.
• Assess whether AI-generated draft sections meet publisher formatting standards, journal requirements, and publication ethics guidance, including ICMJE, GPP, and relevant EQUATOR Network guidelines such as CONSORT and STROBE.
• Evaluate scientific accuracy in manuscripts, abstracts, and discussion sections, distinguishing data-interpretation or medical-reasoning errors from stylistic or editorial preferences.
• Verify publication claims against source records, including Clinical Study Reports, protocols, and Tables, Figures, and Listings, to ensure statements are grounded in the underlying data.
• Write clear, structured rationales for assessments to support diagnosis and improvement of AI model behavior.
• Partner with project leads to refine evaluation criteria and document best practices for scientific publishing workflows in AI development environments.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of dedicated medical or scientific publication authoring experience with a sponsor, CRO, MedComms agency, or as an independent consultant.
• Experience lead-authoring or managing peer-reviewed manuscripts published in reputable biomedical or clinical journals.
• Strong medical writing and scientific publication authoring skills, including peer-reviewed manuscript preparation.
• Working knowledge of ICMJE, GPP3/GPP2022, CONSORT, copyright compliance, and journal submission workflows.
• Ability to interpret complex clinical data, including Tables, Figures, and Listings and statistical analysis plans, and turn it into clear, publication-ready scientific narratives.
• Excellent written communication, attention to detail, critical thinking, collaboration skills, and a record of providing actionable, structured feedback on scientific drafts.
• An advanced life-sciences, pharmacy, or medical degree, such as PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc, or equivalent depth of authoring experience.
• Therapeutic-area expertise, including oncology, immunology, or rare diseases, with diversity across multiple clinical phases.

Work Terms

• Remote independent-contractor engagement.

Compensation

• $50 to $80 per hour.
