The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Test Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Working on new product development teams to lead them in translating customer requirements into robust, relevant test methods for product performance
- Designing experiments to optimize test methods
- Coordinating testing and translating data into insights for product development
- Establishing an extensive network of support (corporate research, laboratory, manufacturing, engineering) to help facilitate completion of assignments
- Communicating at all levels of the organization to drive direction
- Functioning as a technical resource within immediate work group
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in technical field (completed and verified prior to start) AND One year of experience in physical test method development in a private, public, government or military environment
- OR
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution in technical field (completed and verified prior to start) AND (5) years of experience in physical test method development in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Demonstrated project leadership experience, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Experience with use of abrasive products
- Experience with Design of Experiments methodology
- Statistical analysis experience
- Experience with Labview
- Experience with FANUC or Kuka robots
Work location:
- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
Relocation: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
