We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead to serve as a technical anchor for the New York engineering team. This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who can architect complex systems, ship challenging features, mentor junior engineers, and help raise the technical bar across the team. This is not an Engineering Manager position . What You’ll Do Own the end-to-end design and implementation of complex, cross-functional product features Drive architectural decisions and participate in technical design reviews Build scalable, reliable distributed systems Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical plans Work closely with product and design teams to deliver high-impact features Set a high standard for code quality, testing, system design, and engineering practices Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance Review pull requests and help develop the team's engineering capabilities Own the reliability and performance of the systems you build Establish observability, monitoring, SLOs, and production best practices Contribute to CI/CD, deployment tooling, infrastructure, and platform improvements Lead incident response, post-mortems, capacity planning, and performance optimization Take ownership of a major product feature and grow into a technical lead role for that area What We're Looking For 6–8 years of professional software engineering experience Strong background in distributed systems Strong proficiency in Go Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Redis, and Temporal Proven ability to architect and own complex features from design through production Experience shipping scalable systems at a high-growth technology startup Strong mentorship experience, including code reviews and helping junior engineers grow Experience with modern AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot Strong product mindset and ability to work through ambiguity Excellent communication and collaboration skills High ownership, initiative, and a willingness to solve challenging technical problems Ideal Background Experience at a high-growth startup or product-focused technology company Senior IC or Tech Lead experience Strong Go and distributed systems expertise Experience building complex AI, automation, or SaaS products Experience owning architecture and major product features Open-source contributions or technically deep side projects are a plus Work Environment This is an onsite role in New York City for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. The team operates with a highly demanding and ambitious work culture.
