Salary $35.37 - $53.05 Hourly $73,568 - $110,352 Annually This position is a Pay Band C10 Organization Public Health Department (PHD) is the cornerstone for "Safety Net Services" for our communities in NM. This is especially essential in our rural counties. PHD supplies our citizens with family planning, STT testing and treatment, TB treatment, MOUD services, Breast and Cervical cancer screening and treatment, Immunizations for children and some adults along with many other services. Our clients in public health are uninsured or undocumented and would not receive any other health care without our Public Health Division. Purpose of the Senior Registered Nurse Role The purpose of the Senior Registered Nurse role is to provide comprehensive nursing care, counsel and teach special care techniques. Employees are directly involved in the development and implementation of one or more programs, conduct surveys and studies, provide highly specialized nursing care to patients, provide emergency care and ensure that patients' health care needs are met. This position is actively involved in the community and participates in community outreach activities, including emergency preparedness exercises. Incumbent is required to function proficiently in all various Public Health program areas. Responsibilities Advises clients on health maintenance, disease prevention and provides case management as needed in the areas of Family Planning, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, and Sexually Transmitted Disease Program per protocols. Provides health promotion and disease prevention through the promotion of the Immunization Program utilizing NMSIIS/BEHR to maintain accurate immunization records. Assists with TB treatments and outreach activities per program protocols. Maintains client records and chart audits per BEHR protocol. Stays current in changes to protocols, with strict adherence. Collaborates with physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses on plan of care and provides quality care to all clients. Maintains current RN licensure and CPR certifications in the state of New Mexico. Performs community outreach and promotes public health programs. Actively assesses community health issues and participates in support and improvement projects related to community health and prevention. Participates in planning, organizing, and implementing community health promotion. Seeks and implements new strategies of public health. Provides community education/training as assigned. Participates in outreach projects such as health fairs, flu clinics, and home visits. Provides monthly reports to supervisor related to community needs and client satisfaction. Demonstrates adherence to quality assurance and improvement processes. Coordinates with State Pharmacy staff on all pharmacy-related issues. Ideal Candidate Experience working with and following protocols Experience in peripheral lab draws Must have strong computer skills using different electronic health records Minimum Qualifications Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure, or eligibility for a temporary license and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certification from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Office setting, exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
