Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday | 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Five-day work week (approximately 40 hours) About the Role Louie's Craft BBQ is looking for a dependable, hard-working Line Cook to join our kitchen team in Buda. We're looking for someone who can move quickly, stay organized, and maintain quality during busy service. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred , but we're willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic, is comfortable handling a knife, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook at Louie's Craft BBQ, you'll work alongside our pit and kitchen team to prepare and serve high-quality Texas barbecue. This is a hands-on position that requires speed, attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to stay focused during busy lunch and dinner service. You'll be responsible for preparing menu items, working the line, handling knives and kitchen equipment safely, maintaining your station, and helping the team keep service moving efficiently. Key Responsibilities Prepare and assemble menu items according to Louie's recipes and standards. Work assigned stations during lunch and dinner service. Safely and confidently handle knives for slicing, chopping, and food preparation. Prepare sandwiches, sides, and other menu items quickly and consistently. Portion ingredients and proteins according to restaurant standards. Complete daily prep work before and during service. Maintain proper food temperatures and follow food safety procedures. Restock and organize your station throughout the shift. Communicate with other kitchen and front-of-house team members during service. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Assist with dishes, cleaning, trash, and other kitchen responsibilities when needed. Complete closing duties and leave the kitchen prepared for the following day. Requirements Required Must be comfortable and capable of safely handling a kitchen knife. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and instructions. Dependable and able to consistently arrive on time. Ability to communicate and work well as part of a team. Ability to remain organized and productive during busy periods. Availability to work Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Preferred) Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience. Previous line cook, prep cook, or similar experience. Experience working with barbecue or high-volume food service is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work on your feet for an entire shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work around grills, fryers, hot equipment, and other kitchen equipment.
