Salary: Approximately $100,000, depending on experience

Position Summary

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee and manage day-to-day Human Resources operations for its U.S. organization.

This is a hands-on management position responsible for a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, payroll coordination, policy administration, compliance, and employee development.

The HR Manager will work closely with senior management and supervise an HR team member.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Human Resources operations and provide HR guidance to management and employees.
• Handle employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, performance concerns, investigations, and terminations.
• Manage recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
• Maintain and update the Employee Handbook, HR policies, procedures, and related documentation.
• Coordinate and administer the performance review process.
• Oversee payroll-related HR activities and employee benefits administration.
• Support compensation planning and HR budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Coordinate immigration and work authorization matters with appropriate external professionals when necessary.
• Coordinate employee training, safety-related programs, and company events.
• Supervise and support an HR team member.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with outside legal counsel and coordinate legal matters on behalf of the company. For matters outside of HR, the HR Manager will serve primarily as the communication and coordination point rather than being responsible for the substantive matter.
• Perform other HR and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience , including HR management responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience in employee relations, HR policies, performance management, recruiting, benefits, and compliance.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. employment practices and applicable employment laws.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior management and employees.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience working for a global or international organization is a plus.
• Automotive industry experience is a plus.
• Japanese language skills or experience working with Japanese-affiliated organizations is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

The company currently operates on a hybrid schedule, generally consisting of three days in the office and two days remote . The work arrangement may change based on business needs, and additional onsite attendance may be required during training or when operationally necessary.
