Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist in Hilo, HI. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to assist patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities to regain or improve daily living skills in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes coverage in acute rehab and general rehab, managing a full caseload, and coordinating care with ordering physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
  • Active Hawaii Occupational Therapy license required by assignment start. Candidates not currently licensed in Hawaii must apply for the Hawaii license upon acceptance of an offer.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience treating adults in outpatient and acute care/rehabilitation settings.
  • Ability to evaluate and re-evaluate patients, develop and update treatment plans and home exercise programs, and independently manage a full caseload.
  • Experience with electronic medical records; familiarity with Net Health Therapy and Meditech preferred.
  • Willingness to work Hawaii state and federal holidays as needed based on hospital operations.
  • BLS certification may be required from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in inpatient acute rehab and skilled nursing environments.
  • Familiarity with insurance authorization processes and timing for re-evaluations.

Assignment Details

  • Shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Coverage responsibilities include inpatient and acute rehab settings.
  • Must obtain and hold active Hawaii state license by assignment start.
