Insurance Billing Specialist Position Summary: Providetimelyandaccuratebilling of medical and dental claims to various medical and dental insurance carriers. Duties and Responsibilities: Review all bills for accuracy. Enter insurance information provided by patients. Review and correct insurance information for existing patients as needed. Submit bills to the various insurance carriersutilizingelectronic billingif possible. Assistinmaintainingfiles for biopsy and lesion billing. Assistin reviewing andworkingelectronic billing reports. Scan and file financial information, EOBs and any other documents as needed Respond to insurance mail requests as needed andin a timely manner Answer telephone calls from patients and insurance companiesregardingaccounts Answer questions from office staffregardingpatient accounts, insurance benefits, and any other questions as needed Provide information or reports to administrationregardingbilling issues with any insurance companies Print various reports from practice management software Write occasional letters to respond to insurance company requests Write occasional insurance appeal letters Participate in training Back up other accounts receivable positions Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills Must be detail-oriented Mustmaintainprofessionalism at all time Mustmaintaintraining/ continuing education requirements Ability to function in fast paced and/ or stressful work environment Must adhere to company policies and procedures and safety guidelines Education and Experience: High school diploma.
