Furnace Helper- 2nd / 3rd Shift

Purpose The Furnace Helper/Tapper will assist the furnace operator in the operation of basic reverberatory furnace and auxiliary equipment. Furnace Helper / Tapper will be responsible for charging of the b-furnace with charger crane, wheeled loader, and other utilized equipment. 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm, 3rd shift: 10pm-6am Essential Functions Receive instructions from supervisor Prepare tools for skimming slag or tapping Repair and assemble blow pipes, blows oxygen, skims slag, poles down, opens and closes charge doors, cleans burners Perform refractory repairs such as patching, spraying, and installing skim bay and taphole Fill out proper crane, lift truck, heavy equipment daily inspection checklist Assist furnace operator in temperature readings, spraying furnace, etc. Maintain adequate supplies on hand Operate air gun, jackhammer, lift truck, Charger crane, wheeled loader, track loader, poling crane, and Bobcat Keep tools clean and equipment clean, properly stored and in good working order Maintain good housekeeping in work area Physical Requirements Walking or standing 80% of the shift Lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing required Lifting up to 55 pounds Qualifications High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma Must be able to operate mobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts and cranes Ability to organize material on machines as scheduled Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed Must be able to work multiple shifts as needed Read micrometers, calipers and other measurement devices Ability to work in a team environment Basic computer skills Manufacturing experience preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Cambridge-Lee Industries LLC
