Advanced Practice Manager - OBGYN

Job Title: Advanced Practice Manager – OBGYN Department: Health System Shared Services | Health System Nursing Administration Scope of Position The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager works with Advanced Practice Provider and Division leadership and will function in liaison, oversight, and mentoring roles for other advanced practice providers. The APP Manager reports directly to the APP Director. Administrative and reporting responsibilities are as per department expectations. The Manager interacts with the division workforce at large on issues related to advanced practice providers, assigns responsibility for mentoring advanced practice providers, and engages with stakeholders. The Manager provides professional practice leadership, education, and mentoring in matters relating to advanced practice, through interactions with peers, APPs, and stakeholders. The Manager supports and promotes the professional development of APRNs and PAs and serves as the liaison between the APRN/PAs and upper-level advanced practice leaders. The APP Manager is responsible for providing health‑care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The Manager collaborates with physicians and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. The Manager performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure. Position Summary The APP Manager utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to optimize APP practice and utilization while supporting APP Leads (where applicable) and front‑line staff with sustainable models. The Manager aligns with system APP strategic goals and translates these goals into workflow activities and guides direct reports in their execution. The APP Manager is responsible for healthcare services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff, including care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing or Master’s in Physician Assistant Science. APRN License with certification as a CNP, CNM, or National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA‑C. Must have at least four (4) years of experience, including a minimum of two (2) years as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and two (2) years in a lead APP, formal APP administrative leadership, or APP Educator role. 8–12 years of relevant experience preferred.
