Independent Doula: Build Your Practice & Earn Up to $134/hr

Loula is looking for experienced full-spectrum doulas across California to join our network of independent doula providers. Accept Medi-Cal and commercial insurance without the paperwork. We handle credentialing, insurance verification, billing, and payment, and pay you twice a month even when a claim is denied. Full-spectrum doulas can earn about $2,600 per client they bring themselves and about $2,300 per client Loula refers, when they complete all of the visits the client's plan covers. Actual earnings vary by health plan and number of visits. ✨ About Loula With a network of over 500 experienced and diverse doulas, Loula is building the leading provider network for birth and postpartum doula care. We partner with both Medicaid and commercial health insurance plans to make it easier for doulas to accept health insurance without the administrative burden. Loula offers full-service support for Medicaid enrollment, credentialing, insurance verification, medical billing, and payment to doulas in California. By taking on the operational complexity, Loula empowers doulas to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care. Free, hassle-free credentialing: We get you credentialed with major Medicaid and commercial insurance plans in California, at no cost to you. Client referrals as we grow: Our Care Navigator also matches insured families with doulas in our network when there's a fit in your area. Build your own practice, your way: You're an independent contractor in a non-exclusive network, so keep your own clients and practice alongside your work with Loula. No minimums, no pressure: There are no client minimums or visit requirements. You decide how much or how little to take on. Admin? Handled: We manage insurance verification, billing, and payment so you can spend your time with clients, not paperwork. Minimum Qualifications You'll need one of the following: Completed 16 hours of birth doula training AND attended 3 births as a doula, OR 5 years of experience as a doula, with 3 letters of recommendation You'll also need: Adult and infant CPR training HIPAA training Liability insurance If you don't yet have CPR training, HIPAA training, liability insurance, or the letters of recommendation, you can still reach out! We can support you in getting set up with these requirements.
