Pre Construction Manager- Charlotte, NC

Nations Roof is seeking a highly dependable and organized Preconstruction Manager to join our team.Nations Roof, one of the largest commercial roofing contractors, in the US. Our projects range in scope from large-scale new construction to complete tear-offs, re-roofing and renovations of existing building exteriors, and on-going roof maintenance, inspection, and repairs of all major commercial roof systems.This position is based in Charlotte, NC and will be 100% in the office with a Monday-Friday schedule. Primary Responsibilities:The PreConstruction Manager, under the direct supervision of the Vice President (or other manager listed above), is responsible for the successful planning and execution of commercial roofing projects by managing various administrative and preconstruction tasks. This role demands a commitment to professionalism and quality, focusing on meticulous planning, organization, and execution of preconstruction activities to ensure each project meets its goals efficiently and effectivelyPreconstruction ManagerResponsible for leading all preconstruction planning and coordination for commercial roofing projects from contract award through operations handoff. Ensures accuracy of estimating data, contract documents, budgets, materials procurement, and project setup within CRM/project management systems. Works closely with estimators, project managers, vendors, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure seamless project execution, cost control, and schedule alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview estimator handoff, contracts, specs, drawings, and project requirementsBuild and maintain job books, submittal packages, and project documentationSet up and manage project data in CRM/project management systemsCoordinate material procurement with vendors/manufacturersDevelop labor projections, budgets, and cost controlsSupport submittals, shop drawings, permits, and approvalsLiaise with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teamsLead precon-to-operations turnover meetings for smooth handoffTrack multiple projects, deadlines, and documentation simultaneouslyMaintain compliance, quality standards, and customer communicationIdeal BackgroundExperience in commercial roofing preconstruction or related construction roleStrong knowledge of specs, drawings, contracts, and estimating processesCRM/project management software proficiencyStrong budgeting, organization, and multitasking skillsDegree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)Key CompetenciesStrong analytical and business acumenExcellent communication and coordination skillsHigh attention to detail and organizationAbility to manage budgets and multiple projectsProfessional, customer-focused, and collaborative approachSkills/Qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in similar role. Prior experience working for Commercial Roofing is a plus.5 years similar work experience for commercial construction contractor, design, or manufacturing.Ability to read and interpret blueprints to draft clear and detailed manufacturing procedures.Ability to understand and implement a budget.Familiarity with CAD software.Exceptional reading and language comprehension.
