Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machines to produce high-precision aluminum components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for aluminum extrusion machining using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
- Set up and operate CNC mills and routers to machine aluminum extrusions to tight tolerances.
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for aluminum materials.
- Conduct first-article inspections and ensure all parts meet quality standards.
- Maintain and calibrate CNC equipment, ensuring proper operation and minimal downtime.
- Document processes, setups, and best practices for repeatability and training purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machining.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software.
- Familiarity with quality control tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an aluminum extrusion manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
