Alterations Customer Service Representative Flint, MI, USA Job Description The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) delivers an A+ customer experience, supporting the Alterations department. The CSR will welcome and service customers, make appointments, answer phones, press garments, and ensure items are ready for pickup. Essential Job Functions Welcome all customers with friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats and in-person, communicating clearly and concisely and resolving conflicts. Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star experience. Meet all service vows including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There, completing all operational checklist tasks. Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously and contribute to the store’s Five-Star Customer Service goals; proactively address concerns and know when to elevate. Explain how alterations enhance a dress and promote all services and personalization options. Maintain store standards (clean, organized, promotional readiness, store recovery) to support flawless shopping experience. Adhere to dress code standards. Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from appointments. Press, steam and spot clean all merchandise. Follow quality control guidelines and inspect garments to verify pristine condition before delivery. Build long‑term relationships to exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty. Support inventory management by processing special orders, pickups and first‑quality standards. Process transactions accurately in accordance with cash wrap procedures. Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager to resolve issues the CSR cannot address. Maintain a clean and well‑organized alterations room. Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management. Physical Demands Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, reach for tools, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must bend, twist and stand; move throughout the store. Manual dexterity to use POS terminals, count money, steam garments, operate computers, and handle phone calls. Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds. Visual requirements include seeing up close and at a distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and reading computer screens for extended periods. Education & Credentials High school diploma or equivalent. 1–2 years prior retail experience in apparel or specialty store environment. Sewing experience helpful.
