Clinical Nurse Manager - Med Surg Unit

Responsibilities The Clinical Nurse Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership for a defined patient area. Responsibilities include 24‑hour accountability for the day‑to‑day management and long‑term planning of the patient care area and the employees utilized within. This includes implementation of the nursing process, staff development and ongoing improvement of processes and practice to enhance the quality of patient care and employee satisfaction. Serves as a role model for professional practice. Provides patient care/services for all stages of the lifespan including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Education Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN required; BSN preferred. Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing experience in acute care. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Med‑surg nursing experience required. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Mississippi. ACLS certification preferred. Skills and Qualifications Communication skills including verbal, non‑verbal, and listening skills. Strong fiscal management skills. Demonstrated commitment to team effort, professional nursing practice, and education. Ability to work in a collaborative management team. Other Special Characteristics Organizational/management insight. People skills – a warm, caring, approachable style with residents, families, staff, and providers.
