The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Sports & Spine, is offering an outstanding opportunity for a physiatrist to join our faculty. This position will have a focus in the area of interventional pain medicine. This will be a full-time academic appointment in the Clinical Track and may be appointed at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is not tenure-eligible. Faculty in the Clinical Track hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date is summer or fall 2025, but later dates may be considered.

The clinical environment is an outpatient practice embedded within an academic department. As a member of the Division of Sports & Spine, the successful candidate will be based at the outpatient comprehensive pain treatment facility, the UW Center for Pain Relief, as well as UWMC-Northwest (Meridian). Duties include providing interventional pain treatment in the setting of comprehensive pain consultation and care to patients, to include a mix of clinic visits and procedures. Duties at UWMC-NW will include providing holistic rehabilitation care to improve function and quality of life for those with acute and chronic pain through medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other advanced interventional techniques. Coordinates additional patient care such as; physical therapy, psychological therapy, and rehabilitation services to offer patients a comprehensive plan with a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of their pain. The successful candidate must work in strong collaboration with treatment team members and take a holistic approach to the treatment of painful conditions. The successful candidate also will provide teaching and training to residents and fellows in the clinic setting and will be expected to participate in didactic teaching sessions.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this position will be as follows:

• Clinical Assistant Professor: $17,000 to $21,250 per month ($204,000 - $255,000 annually)
• Clinical Associate Professor: $19,584 to $25,000 per month ($235,000 - $300,000 annually)
• Clinical Professor: $22,917 to $27,917 per month ($275,000 - $335,000 annually)

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a US Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include any of the following: incentive through UW Physicians (UWP), moving allowance, relocation incentive, additional compensation for leadership roles (if applicable).

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
• Must be eligible for full medical licensure in the state of Washington
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pain Medicine
• Board certification/eligibility in Pain Medicine
