Job Title: Tool and Die Maker Job Description

Build and maintain dies and fixtures using the latest state-of-the-art technology to meet customer specifications and ensure satisfaction. Produce a final product that meets high-quality standards with some of the smallest tolerances in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and quality on all jobs.

• Possess a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (S.P.C.).

• Operate and understand the use of hand tools, grinding machinery, milling machinery, drill presses, lathe, band saw, heat treating ovens, optical comparator, various measuring devices, die hoists.

• Build, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and debug progressive dies and new tooling.

• Perform mathematic and geometric functions and possess mechanical aptitude.

• Read blueprints.

• Assist in press setup as required.

• Operate computer die maintenance program and other required computer processes.

• Knowledge of CNC and wire EDM processes.

• Cooperate with other employees to satisfy job requirements.

• Possess tools of the trade.

• Follow all safety procedures and regulations.

• Maintain a tidy and clean workstation.

• Complete data entry activities in a timely and accurate manner.

Essential Skills

• Good communication skills and team skills required to complete projects on time.

• Ability to analyze blueprints, determine materials, machines, and components required to make, modify, or repair tools and dies.

• Understand the operation of computer and tool room equipment.

• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Attention to accuracy, details, and due dates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Journeyman Certificate with 4 years of apprenticeship and two years of experience.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing setting with noise and some grinding dust. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100 to 2500 lbs. using die carts. Protective shoes, safety glasses, shop coat, and ear protection are required while working around loud noises. Work hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with an option to work from 6 am to 2:30 pm if needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lake Geneva, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $104000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
