This Medical Assistant role supports a busy clinic by providing high-quality patient care, managing clinical and administrative tasks, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system. The position involves frequent patient interaction, coordination of follow-up care, and collaboration with clinical staff to deliver an efficient and positive patient experience.

• Perform day-to-day medical assisting duties in a clinic setting, supporting providers and clinical staff.
• Conduct patient follow-ups and ensure patients receive timely updates regarding their care and appointments.
• Enter patient updates and clinical information accurately into the electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically Athena.
• Answer inbound phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, addressing patient questions or routing calls appropriately.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, including follow-up visits, to maintain an organized and efficient clinic schedule.
• Order laboratory tests as directed and ensure lab orders are entered correctly and processed in a timely manner.
• Relay lab results to patients and appropriate clinical staff in accordance with clinic protocols and confidentiality standards.
• Provide front desk and clinical support, including checking patients in, verifying information, and assisting with patient flow.
• Utilize medical terminology appropriately when documenting and communicating clinical information.
• Support patient care activities as directed by providers, ensuring a welcoming and supportive experience for patients.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain accurate medical records and support insurance-related documentation as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues in all interactions.

• At least 1 year of experience in medical assisting or a closely related medical support role.
• Medical assisting diploma or certification, or 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience working in a medical or healthcare environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Athena.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and its use in patient care and documentation.
• Experience with medical records management and electronic health records.
• Ability to schedule appointments and manage patient follow-ups efficiently.
• Strong patient care skills with a focus on professionalism and empathy.
• Ability to order labs and understand basic lab-related workflows.
• Comfort with answering and managing a high volume of inbound phone calls.
• Clinical support experience in a medical assisting or similar role.
• Customer service skills, including clear communication and problem-solving.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge or certification (if applicable from prior experience).

• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or similar medical assisting credential is a plus.
• Experience working at a front desk in a medical clinic or healthcare facility.
• Familiarity with insurance processes and documentation in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Commitment to providing compassionate healthcare and excellent service to patients.

This role is fully onsite at a clinic, working in a professional healthcare environment that combines clinical and front office responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime workweek. The clinic uses an electronic medical record system, specifically Athena, and standard medical and office equipment to support patient care and administrative tasks. The environment emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and patient-centered service. Employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and holiday pay with six paid holidays initially. Upon conversion to permanent status, employees are eligible for nine paid holidays and 15 days of paid time off (PTO). Performance-based pay raises are available, and team members can earn PTO tokens—each worth one hour of PTO—for recognized standout actions, with no limit to how many tokens they can accumulate. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Cloud, FL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
