POSITION OVERVIEW:
Allen Monument Company is looking for a detail-oriented, full-time, in-house CAD Designer to join our design team. In this role, you will transform clients’ ideas into approval proofs, photorealistic monument renderings, and precise production plotter cutfiles. You will prepare high-resolution imagery for laser etching and create vector stencils for sandblasting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create monument layout proofs and high-quality 2D renderings for retail customers and wholesale partners.
- Prepare and optimize images for laser etching machines using Adobe Photoshop.
- Create exact and precise cutfiles/stencils using Monu-CAD for sandblasting and manufacturing.
- Process design updates and customer revisions delegated through the design management team.
- Perform quality control on all designs, ensuring exact layout, proper kerning, correct spelling of engravings, and accurate dimensions before release to production.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required Technical Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong mastery of Adobe Acrobat for document preparation and proofing.
- Demonstrated understanding of vector graphics manipulation, graphic layout, and typography.
Required General Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail (spelling, geometry, scaling, layout alignment).
- Ability to adapt to varying project volumes and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior drafting or design experience in the memorial, stone, or architectural monument industry.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of Monu-CAD (paid onboarding & training provided over the first 1–3 months for candidates strong in Adobe software).
