Endoscopy Repair Technician Associate Trainer (onsite Wayne, NJ)

Position Overview

The Endoscopic Repair Technician/Associate Trainer plays a dual role, combining hands-on technical expertise with training and coaching responsibilities. This position will perform the Endoscopic Repair technician job duties plus support the training function by performing basic service training assisting with training audits, and coaching/providing general guidance to all levels of Repair technicians. This position will assist in ensuring all technicians adhere to all safety policies and repair procedures.

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities

Endoscopic Repair Technician - 75%

• Perform minor and overhaul repairs on endoscopic equipment based upon the inspection findings.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Assembles and disassembles small highly delicate parts of the endoscope assuring the unit meets the established specifications.
• Troubleshoot potential problems not originally discovered during the initial inspection.
• Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
• Other duties and ad-hoc special assignments as required

Associate Trainer - 25%

• Serves as a training resource at the discretion of the functional Lead Trainer.
• Supports the training function by performing basic training, coaching, and providing general guidance to a team of Endoscopic Repair technicians.
• Assist in providing Service/Repair training and performing Service Audits for distributor locations across the US.
• Travel to Japan or other locations as needed for training on new products.
• Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
• Other duties and ad-hoc special assignments as required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalency is required.
• Electronic and/or Mechanical Certification or degree preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Endoscopic Repair or working on related medical equipment.
• Electronic and mechanical skills required.
• Solder skills and experience required.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers.
• Ability to investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues and discrepancies
• Ability to research and analyze various types of information.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret essential job-related documents.
• Ability to present and speak effectively and professionally to employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate and match figures and amounts.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex repair procedures.

Physical requirements

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, use electronic or mechanical repair devices, fine motor skill dexterity, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
• The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

• Occasional (up to 10%) travel may be required based on business need.
