Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary: Responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels, controlling stock movements, and ensuring that materials and/or products are available when required while minimizing shortages, excess stock, and discrepancies.

Key Objective: Maintain high inventory accuracy and optimal stock levels while reducing stock-outs, excess inventory, losses, and operational disruptions.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP or inventory management system.
• Track incoming, outgoing, transferred, and returned stock.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock counts.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Ensure stock movements are properly documented and recorded.
• Monitor minimum, maximum, reorder, safety-stock, kanban levels.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, production, sales, and finance teams.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
• Verify receiving and issuing transactions against relevant documents.
• Maintain accurate item codes, descriptions, units of measure, and storage locations.
• Support inventory audits and provide required documentation.
• Recommend improvements to inventory-control procedures.
• Monitor inventory KPIs such as stock accuracy, inventory turnover, stock-outs, and excess inventory.

Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience in inventory control, warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Solid understanding of FIFO, cycle counting, stock reconciliation, min/max inventory and kanban principles.
