Description:
Coverage includes 24-hour call with daily rounding of up to 4 hours.
In-house call is not required.
A reasonable all-inclusive rate is preferred.
Specific coverage dates include June 18, 22; July 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 13; and August 12, 15, 16.
The physician is not required to be on-site while providing call support.
The locum physician may be called to the hospital under certain circumstances, such as a patient with a prior cesarean in labor attempting a vaginal delivery.
The physician will round on patients post-cesarean and on antepartum patients if no maternal-fetal medicine specialist is on call.
They may also be called by midwives, the emergency department, or consulting physicians.
The physician will be involved in maternal transport from outside facilities.
OB patients managed by midwives do not require physician rounding unless they fall into the aforementioned categories.
Midwives have prescribing authority and can oversee deliveries involving epidurals with no need for the physician's oversight, aside from anesthesia.
Average call back times vary but are generally less than 90 minutes for consultations, and can extend to 2 hours for surgical procedures like laparoscopy or cesarean deliveries.
Average time on-site would not exceed six hours.
Support staff includes a full office staff and special delivery staff in the hospital.
Candidate must be experienced with all age groups and both inpatient and outpatient care.
The EMR utilized is EPIC.
The call structure will consist of one midwife, one obstetrician/gynecologist, and one maternal-fetal medicine specialist.
The physician must provide services including circumcisions, tubal ligations, C-sections, operative vaginal deliveries, and other surgical procedures.
Preferred skills include handling low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, interpreting fetal heart rates, performing obstetric ultrasounds, and managing various delivery methods.
Additional preferred skills encompass repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations and various minor gynecological procedures.
The ability to perform surgical gynecology procedures is also required.
