The Rigger will be responsible for assembling rigging to lift and move equipment or material on maintenance and construction projects. Essential Qualifications:High School or equivelantOne (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)Knowledge of all types of slings/chokersMust ensure all rigging hardware and slings meet the company quarterly inspection criteria Some job sites may require NCCER certification for this craftWritten pre-employment qualification testPost-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluationJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace. Functional Requirements: Selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved,Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms, with boltsand clamps, Attaches load to crane hook with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes and chains, Givesdirections to equipment operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads , Ensures the safety of workers andmaterial handlers using hand signals, loudspeaker or telephone, Sets up, braces and rigs hoisting equipment,Splices rope and wire to repair slings and tackles, May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery andequipment into ships, railroad cars or trucks, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's directionCompensation:Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
