Location: Union County, NJ
Salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations within a fast-paced packaging and distribution environment.

This is a highly active leadership position. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for supervising warehouse employees, maintaining accurate inventory, managing workflow, ensuring safety and productivity, and working closely with production and supply chain teams.

This is not a desk-based management role. The successful candidate should expect to spend approximately 60% or more of the workday on the warehouse floor, actively managing operations, solving problems, and supporting the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory, picking, staging, and shipping
• Supervise, train, schedule, and provide direction to warehouse employees
• Maintain an active presence on the warehouse floor and ensure employees are working safely and efficiently
• Manage inventory accuracy and investigate inventory discrepancies
• Utilize the company's Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory, receipts, transfers, and warehouse activity
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
• Work closely with production to ensure materials are available when needed
• Manage the movement of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods
• Ensure proper warehouse organization, product locations, labeling, and storage procedures
• Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency
• Perform and oversee cycle counts and physical inventory
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, customer service, and supply chain teams
• Ensure forklift and material-handling equipment is operated safely
• Assist with forklift and material-handling duties when necessary
• Enforce warehouse safety policies and maintain a clean, organized facility
• Respond to emails, phone calls, inventory requests, and operational issues
• Assist management with reporting and warehouse performance metrics

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of warehouse supervisory or management experience required
• Previous experience in the packaging industry strongly preferred
• Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment
• Strong WMS experience required
• Experience with inventory control and supply chain operations
• Forklift certification and hands-on forklift experience
• Strong understanding of receiving, shipping, inventory management, and warehouse procedures
• Experience supervising and developing warehouse employees
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on inventory accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working on the warehouse floor for the majority of the day
• Willingness to jump in and assist the team when needed
• Strong computer skills, including email, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on warehouse leader, not someone who manages exclusively from an office.

The ideal candidate understands that effective warehouse management means being visible on the floor, communicating with employees, monitoring inventory and workflow, addressing problems as they occur, and helping the operation meet daily production and shipping goals.

Experience within cosmetic packaging, consumer products, packaging, manufacturing, or a similar high-volume environment would be especially valuable.

Compensation

$70,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience.
