Target Ratios: 1:5-6. Could fluctuate based on unit needs, but travelers must be comfortable taking 6 patients.

Call Requirement: Yes; Frequency of On Call depends on patient census.

Float Requirement: YES

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period is required.

Patient Diagnoses: We are the primary cardiac and stroke unit. Stable pre/post care for pacemaker implantation, implanted carioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, TR bands. Post uncomplicated interventional peripheral vascular procedure/cardiac interventions without sheaths(s). Non-rebreather mask with stable O2 saturation (must be on pule ox, Unstable angina, low risk chest pain evaluation, CHF, Dysrhythmias, All NEW CVA, TIA patients. Run multiple drips: Cardiazem, Dopamine, Amiodarone, etc.

Special Procedures / Unit Details: Can titrate cardizem drips Should be used to a fast passed unit. We typically turnover 78 to 90 patients a week. That means a nurse with a 6 patient assignment can end up turning over their complete assignment and starting over. We do have the addition of a team lead to assist with admissions and discharges. Unit currently houses COVID positive patients with the use of opti-flow and BIPAP.

Special Equipment: Telemetry and pulse ox High Flow O2 (STABLE), Non-Rebreather Mask (Only if Palliative), Bipap can be used, only if it is chronic use, NO NEW BIPAP Blanketrol NO: UNSTABLE O2 W/ BIPAP, NON REBREATHER, Respiratory Rate > than 35, O2 Sat < 85% HIGH FLOW O2 must have pulse ox ordered NO CONTINUOUS KCl w/ Concentration > than 60mEq/Liter, NO NEW BIPAP

Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, Dimensions (EPIC), SBAR

Scheduling Type: Self Scheduling per above guidelines and with oversight from leadership to balance as needed.****NO BLOCK SCHEDULING****

Unit Orientation: 36 hours. Travelers must be available everyday week one for hospital orientation

Scrubs: Navy blue Scrubs or white Scrubs or a mixture of the two and Novant t-shirts are allowed all days of the week. Jackets are to be the same material (not fleece) and color as uniforms. Also, no crocs with holes.

We do have the addition of a team lead to assist with admissions and discharges.**Unit currently houses COVID positive patients with the use of opti-flow and BIPAP.*****PCU/Tele Skills- does not need PCU experience but must have Cardiac Tele. - ALL SKILLS ARE HARD STOP*** Special Equipment : - #Tier2 Crisis Response Compliance Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing. All testing must be completed within 48 hours. Submission Process : All units are utilizing Clinical for direct profile review Submission Details : Former Novant/New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying. Disclosure required (with hospital name/dates employed) at submission; facility approval needed. Current travel Per Diem clinicians aren't eligible for travel contracts they must choose one. Include status and intent in the submission. Local candidates ( 50 miles) : Lower rate applies. RTO : Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. No RTO during first week. All RTO must be pre-approved. Cannot request additional RTO after signing. NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal. Floating: Candidates must be open to floating within/near facility per job description. Travel pairs : Allowed (must be on different units and disclosed). Charting : See job description. References can be pending at submission. Modules : Pre-start modules are non-billable, time spent on modules should be margined separately from orientation hours.
