Position Summary

Manda Machine Company is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector with proven inspection experience in a precision machining environment. This is a hands-on role focused on dimensional verification of complex aerospace components and assemblies.

This is not an entry-level quality position. Candidates must have direct experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined parts, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and applying GD&T in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspections on machined aerospace components and assemblies.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gages, indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T callouts to verify compliance.
• Perform receiving inspection of raw materials, outside processing, and vendor-supplied components.
• Generate and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist with root cause and corrective action activities.
• Maintain inspection records, traceability documentation, and calibration records in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
• Support calibration system management and preventative maintenance tracking.
• Work directly with machinists, programmers, and management to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Assist in developing inspection plans and custom inspection methods for complex parts and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness within the inspection department.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of inspection experience in aerospace or precision CNC machining.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components .
• Proficiency with standard inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gages, and bore gages.
• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (AS9102) requirements.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CMM inspection and/or support (PC-DMIS preferred).
• Experience with portable CMM arms, laser scanners, or advanced metrology equipment .
• Experience using ERP systems for traceability and inspection documentation ( ProShop preferred ).
• Formal GD&T training or certification.
