Officer - Specialty Internal Medicine PhysicianIt's important that we provide our Airmen with overall, lasting healthcare. Dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases, Internal Medicine Physicians provide comprehensive care important for each patient's specific health needs. Often faced with a wide range of conditions affecting the internal organs, these specialists treat health needs that fall across the health spectrum.What you'll doDiagnose and treat a wide range of diseasesPerform and direct diagnostic procedures including x-rays and clinical laboratory testsPrescribe appropriate treatment for internal diseasesManage plans and procedures for internal medicine servicesServe as a consultant on internal diseasesCapt Paul Fernandes, Internal Medicine PhysicianTraining & EducationOfficer Training School 5.5 weeksMilitary Training Location Maxwell AFB, ALKey things to consider requirementsDoctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school of medicine or osteopathic medicineCompleted a residency or fellowship in internal medicineCompletion of Officer Training School courseMust be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 48th birthday
