OSP Telecom Construction Quality Auditor (HFC/Fiber)

Location: Miami, FL (Field-Based)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

A day in the field

Morning starts with a route plan and safety check. You head to your first site to examine freshly completed outside plant work—coax (HFC) and fiber builds. You compare what’s in the ground and on the poles to the design prints, validate workmanship, and note any corrective actions. Midday, you join a quick Microsoft Teams touch-base with contractors and business partners, then drive to the next location to verify rework and close out previous findings. Late afternoon, you return to your home office to document audit results, update Smartsheet and P2, and prep for tomorrow’s assignments. Most days are in the field; some require longer drives and occasional overnights. Every day, you operate independently while staying closely connected to the broader team.

What you’ll do

• Conduct quality audits on completed telecom construction projects across the assigned territory.
• Inspect outside plant infrastructure for both fiber and coax (HFC), ensuring alignment to engineering and quality standards.
• Identify deficiencies, document findings, and communicate required corrective actions to contractors and business partners.
• Verify completion of rework within expected timelines and confirm accuracy of repairs.
• Complete audit documentation and close out assignments thoroughly and on time.
• Use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, and P2 for reporting, tracking, and collaboration.
• Participate in Teams meetings and coordinate directly with field crews and stakeholders.
• Remain available during normal business hours to support troubleshooting and clear inspections.
• Independently manage multiple concurrent audits across diverse locations.

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience with both coax (HFC) and fiber telecom construction.
• Background in OSP, broadband, cable, or telecom construction.
• Ability to read and interpret telecom construction/design prints.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Self-directed with strong documentation and communication skills.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Willingness to travel throughout the territory, including overnight travel as needed.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience as a Network Maintenance Technician.
• Background performing telecom construction quality inspections or field audits.
• Experience collaborating with telecom contractors and business partners.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet and P2.

Travel and logistics

• Frequent travel across the Miami, FL territory.
• Some project sites may be 3–4 hours from your base area.
• Overnight trips may be required; hotel accommodations are arranged by the Client.
• Mileage reimbursement provided.
• Reliable personal vehicle required.

Work environment

• Approximately 80% field work and 20% remote administrative work.
• Highly independent role within a geographically dispersed team.
• Dynamic pace—manage evolving assignments, travel between multiple job sites, and maintain regular communication with internal teams and partners.
