Cutter/Welder

Architectural Grille, a Division of Giumenta Corporation, located at 42 Second Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11215 is a family-owned and operated manufacturing company that has been in business since 1945. We are currently seeking a Cutter/Welder to add to our growing team. The schedule for this role is 7:00AM - 3:30PM.

This dual-role position requires proficiency in both cutting and welding metal components with precision, ensuring the highest quality craftsmanship in line with our company standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cutting Responsibilities:

• Safely operate saws to cut brass, bronze, stainless steel, and other metals.
• Layout jobs as per blueprints, shop drawings, and other job orders.
• Check mist oil levels and remove shavings before operating saws.
• Maximize material usage by checking the availability of cut stock before using full-length materials.
• Maintain the inventory of extruded stock and inform the Factory Manager when the stock is running low.
• Ensure saw blades are properly maintained and inform the Maintenance Manager when they need to be replaced.
• Ensure work areas and tools are clean, organized, and returned after use.
• Dispose of scraps in appropriate bins.

Welding Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding on aluminum, brass, bronze, and steel with precision.
• Produce neat, spill-free welds on cores and small, clean welds on frames.
• Weld according to the job’s desired finish and verify squareness and job specifications upon completion.
• Ensure welds are accurate, clean, and meet the highest standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 2+ years of cutting and welding experience.
• Proficiency in TIG welding techniques and using a saw to cut various metals.
• Strong attention to detail and precision work.
• Problem sensitivity, creative thinking, and effective time management.
• Ability to handle and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Manual dexterity for handling tools, welding, and cutting equipment.
• Neat, organized, and able to work independently and with a team.
• Effective communication skills and adaptability to change.

Working Conditions:

• Physical Stamina for prolonged periods of standing, manual labor, and handling parts.
• Near vision is required to see things at close range.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.).
• Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment with adherence to strict safety protocols.

Pay Rate: $20 - $23/Hour

Introductory Period: 90 Days

After Thirty Days:
