Speech Language Pathologist

PurposeThis role is designed to support our Early Supports team by providing evaluative, therapeutic, and consultative services for children who are delayed or disordered in speech, language, feeding, cognitive, and/or hearing abilities.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:Work a variable schedule, as determined and mutually agreed upon by your direct supervisor based on Kindering’s needsAssess each child’s developmental level of functioning; conduct formal evaluations of performance as neededParticipate in Individual Family Service Plan conferences in cooperation with Family Resource CoordinatorDesign and implement treatment plans in support of the child’s outcomes on the Individual Family Service Plan and provide services to the child and family in the natural environmentPrepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each childParticipate in the development of each child’s total program as part of the interdisciplinary teamDesign and/or assist in developing alternate communications systems, coach primary care givers in therapeutic interventionsMake referrals to appropriate community or Kindering programs, support groups, and other servicesProvide or support outreach, intensive informing, care planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services, consultation, resource development, interagency coordination, training, program planning, quality management, and administration to support Medicaid programsRequired Education & ExperienceMaster’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology (in fulfillment of the requirements of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association); eligible for Certificate of Clinical ComplianceValid Washington State professional licenseExperience working with children who have neuromuscular and developmental disordersFeeding therapy experience preferredSpanish fluency preferredKey CompetenciesFamily-Centered Service Delivery: Builds strong partnerships with families, provides therapeutic services in natural environments, and coaches caregivers to support child development and IFSP goals.Clinical Assessment & Intervention: Conducts developmental assessments, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and monitors progress using evidence-based practices.Collaboration & Care Coordination: Partners effectively with interdisciplinary team members, coordinates referrals and resources, and ensures comprehensive support for children and families.Minimum PrerequisitesPossess a valid Washington State DOH SLP license or be in process of obtaining onePass the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) criminal history and background check, as well as the FBI fingerprint checkStrictly maintain the confidentiality of all client information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policiesDemonstrate proficiency in word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and AccessPossess a valid Washington State driver's license and maintain valid automobile insurance coverageHave access to a dependable personal vehicle for transportation purposesPossess the physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 poundsProvide documentation of a negative tuberculosis test resultProvide proof of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccines, or submit a titer test result demonstrating immunity**Kindering is subject to multiple executive orders requiring all employees to be vaccinated or apply and be approved for a sincerely held religious belief or medical exemption.
