Our small-team environment offers hands-on project ownership, flexibility, and professional growth in a casual and collaborative setting.Position SummaryThe Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, programming, and commissioning automation control systems. This includes creating and modifying PLC and HMI programs (Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley, Codesys, Siemens, Indusoft Ignition, and others). The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of controls engineering experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently from concept to completion.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and program PLC and HMI systems using Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, and other industrial platforms.Manage project lifecycles including design, documentation, programming, testing, and commissioning.Perform on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning (domestic / international travel 15-20%).Provide remote and field technical support via phone, email, or site visits.Collaborate with customers to assess application needs and propose control solutions.Maintain accurate technical documentation and project records.Support internal panel shop, testing, and troubleshooting as needed.Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards on all projects.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical experience.3–5 years of experience in industrial controls programming.Proficiency in PLC / HMI programming (Rockwell Automation, Siemens TIA Portal, FactoryTalk View, CoDeSys, Indusoft Ignition SCADA)Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, motion control, sensors, pneumatics, and networking.Ability to manage projects and answer questions for other engineers.Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.Capable of lifting 40 lbs and climbing ladders.Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.U.S. Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident of the U.S.Why Join Us?Diverse, hands-on automation and controls projects across multiple industries.Collaborative small-team culture with direct leadership access.Competitive salary, benefits, and travel incentives.Opportunities for career growth, training, and technical development.
