The Enterprise Reporting Architect is a strategic individual contributor contract role responsible for defining and driving the vision, architecture, standards, design, and development of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. This role ensures the delivery of scalable, secure, and insight-driven reporting products that support operational, tactical, and executive decision-making. This role bridges business strategy, data architecture, and executive decision support by designing scalable, governed, and insight-driven reporting ecosystems across the organization. The Enterprise Reporting Architect will establish the framework for how reporting platforms, data models, visualization standards, and analytics capabilities come together to support operational, tactical, and executive reporting needs. In addition to establishing architecture and standards, this role is expected to be hands‑on in designing and developing reports, dashboards, and reporting solutions. This role will align reporting capabilities with business strategy, enabling a data‑driven culture, consistency in metrics, and high‑quality insights across the organization. This is a hands‑on individual contributor contract role. The selected candidate will be expected to both define reporting architecture and directly design and develop reports, dashboards, and related BI deliverables. This is not a people‑manager role and is not limited to advisory or oversight responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Reporting Strategy & Vision: Define, lead, and maintain the enterprise reporting strategy, vision, roadmap, and architectural standards for reporting and analytics solutions. Design and implement a cohesive reporting ecosystem integrating multiple platforms, tools, and data sources. Lead the design of a scalable reporting ecosystem that supports executive dashboards, operational reporting, self‑service analytics, and performance management. Serve as a subject matter expert for modern reporting architecture, balancing business usability, governance, performance, and extensibility. Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging BI, AI‑enabled, and analytics technologies to enhance capabilities and user experience. Align reporting capabilities with business strategy to promote metric consistency, trusted insights, and enterprise decision support. Translate strategy and architecture into tangible reporting solutions through hands‑on report and dashboard design and development. Design enterprise‑level reporting architectures that integrate data from multiple platforms, applications, and operational systems into a cohesive reporting strategy. Establish architectural patterns for semantic layers, data models, dashboard frameworks, KPI standardization, and metadata management. Define design principles for reporting solutions that enable trusted, consistent, and reusable enterprise insights. Ensure reporting architecture aligns with enterprise data strategy, security requirements, and platform governance standards. Incorporate AI‑enabled reporting capabilities where appropriate to improve usability, insight generation, and decision support. Directly design and develop enterprise reports, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations aligned to business and executive needs. Build reporting assets and prototypes that demonstrate architecture standards, reusable design patterns, and scalable BI solutions. Executive & Business Intelligence Enablement: Partner with senior leaders to translate strategic objectives into reporting capabilities, executive scorecards, and decision‑support frameworks. Drive the design of executive‑facing reporting experiences that clearly communicate trends, risks, performance indicators, and business opportunities. Create standards for storytelling through data, ensuring reporting products are intuitive, actionable, and aligned to leadership needs. Guide the prioritization of reporting investments based on business value and enterprise impact. Enable advanced reporting experiences through capabilities such as natural language query, automated summaries, and AI‑assisted insights where appropriate. Develop executive dashboards and business reporting solutions that clearly present trends, KPIs, risks, and opportunities for decision‑making. Data Governance & Standardization: Establish standards for metric definitions, reporting consistency, and cross‑functional data alignment. Promote the use of common data models and event‑based normalization frameworks, such as the Common Event Model (CEM), where applicable. Collaborate with governance, security, and data management teams to ensure enterprise reporting solutions meet quality, compliance, and access‑control requirements. Champion trusted data practices and sustainable reporting design across the organization. Ensure AI‑enabled analytics and reporting outputs are implemented with appropriate governance, transparency, and validation. Apply governance and metric standards directly within report and dashboard development to ensure consistency and trust in delivered outputs. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, and AI‑driven capabilities that enhance reporting design, insight generation, and user experience. Drive adoption of advanced BI capabilities such as natural language querying, predictive insights, and automated narrative generation. Explore opportunities to improve reporting agility, scalability, and user engagement through modern visualization and analytics tools. Act as a strategic advisor on the future direction of enterprise reporting and analytics. Assess the use of generative AI and machine learning to improve insight discovery, summarization, metadata enrichment, and self‑service reporting experiences. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and reporting developers to align architecture with implementation. Provide design guidance, governance oversight, and architectural review for key reporting initiatives. Work closely with business and technical teams to gather requirements, validate reporting needs, and deliver reporting solutions that meet enterprise objectives. Share best practices in reporting architecture, dashboard design standards, KPI frameworks, and enterprise analytics patterns. Influence decision‑making across teams without direct authority by building alignment around reporting strategy, design standards, and implementation approaches. Technical Requirements: Deep expertise in enterprise reporting architecture, business intelligence strategy, and hands‑on analytics solution design and development. Strong knowledge of modern BI and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Splunk, AWS QuickSight, or similar technologies. Demonstrated experience designing and developing enterprise reports, dashboards, scorecards, and self‑service reporting solutions. Experience designing reporting solutions on cloud‑based data platforms, including services such as AWS S3, Athena, and other enterprise data environments. Strong understanding of semantic modeling, data architecture, KPI frameworks, metadata strategy, and reporting governance. Familiarity with enterprise data standardization approaches, including the Common Event Model (CEM) or similar frameworks. Understanding of AI‑enabled BI capabilities, including natural language insights, automated analytics, predictive insights, and machine learning‑enhanced reporting. Familiarity with generative AI use cases in analytics, such as automated insight summaries, conversational BI, and intelligent data exploration. Strong knowledge of data security, access models, and governance principles as they apply to enterprise reporting. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, reporting architecture, analytics strategy, or enterprise data design. Strong hands‑on experience designing and developing enterprise reporting solutions in BI and visualization platforms. Experience leading or contributing to enterprise‑scale reporting transformations or modern BI architecture initiatives. Experience evaluating, implementing, or governing AI/ML‑enabled analytics capabilities in enterprise reporting environments. Proven ability to engage with executive stakeholders and translate high‑level business goals into scalable reporting strategies and delivered reporting products. Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences. Success Profile: The ideal candidate is a hands‑on enterprise reporting architect and strategic thinker who understands how reporting solutions should be designed to support decision‑making at every level of the organization. This individual contributor is responsible not only for defining reporting architecture, standards, and design patterns, but also for directly designing and developing reports, dashboards, and reporting solutions that deliver trusted, scalable, and business‑aligned insights. This individual brings a strong blend of business acumen, reporting architecture expertise, hands‑on development capability, governance discipline, and modern BI knowledge. They can translate business requirements into effective reporting products while applying AI capabilities, where appropriate, to enhance reporting, analytics, and decision support in a practical and responsible way.
