Main Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Ceph clusters for large-scale production environments
• Monitor and optimize the performance, capacity, and reliability of clusters
• Apply best practices for data durability, replication, and recovery
• Diagnose and resolve large-scale storage issues
• Manage lifecycle operations such as updates, expansions, and migrations
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Ceph with OpenStack and Kubernetes
• Automate operational tasks to ensure efficient and reproducible processes
• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems
• Work directly with clients to resolve their technical issues
• Contribute to internal documentation

Required Qualifications

• Solid practical experience with Ceph in production environments
• Good understanding of distributed storage concepts and architecture
• Proficiency in Linux administration and networking basics
• Experience with OpenStack storage backends Cinder, Glance, or Nova (a significant advantage)
• Knowledge of persistent storage concepts in Kubernetes (a plus)
• Experience in scripting with Python, Go, or others
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
• Ability to analyze performance issues and find root causes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to Ceph or other open-source projects
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Terraform
• Experience in large-scale cloud environments
• Understanding of object storage protocols like S3 or Swift
