We're looking for a Parts Processing Specialist/Shop Assistant to run parts processing and support daily operations at our North Phoenix precision CNC machine shop. A major part of this role is hands-on parts processing: deburring, sanding, hand-finishing, and inspecting. It's a detail-driven job with opportunities to learn CNC machining processes, shop operations, and grow into more technical responsibilities.

What began as a pursuit to build the finest custom 1911’s expanded into designing and producing our own parts engineered to our high standards, which are now trusted by both the world’s top gunsmiths and major 1911/2011 manufacturers.

We're a small team, and everyone here wears multiple hats. When a shipment needs to go out, when a machine needs attention, or when someone's buried and needs a hand, we all step in, no matter whose "job" it technically is. We're looking to add one more person who works the same way: someone who is willing to help where they’re needed, even if it falls outside their role.

What We're Looking For:

• Mechanically inclined: You like to take things apart just to see how they work, and put them back together better than you found them. You understand how mechanical things work, and troubleshooting a problem is satisfying to you, not frustrating.
• Good hands and a critical eye: You will be sanding, polishing, and buffing with hand tools and buffers. You should be comfortable working with your hands and picking up new tools quickly. You also need the eye to spot problems on a part. We can teach the technique, we can't teach caring whether it's right. Expect to ask a lot of questions the first few weeks.
• A consummate team player: Fit and teamwork matter just as much as technical ability. If you haven’t been told you’re a great team member before, this probably isn’t the place for you. You’re self-aware enough to know how your actions and attitude affect the people around you.
• A positive and ambitious attitude: You are eager to learn new skills and take on new challenges with a "can-do" mindset. “Good enough” doesn’t sit right with you.
• Eager to give and receive feedback: You want to get better, and you know that means hearing where you can improve, and speaking up when you see something worth raising. You communicate clearly and concisely, listen actively to understand and collaborate, and can do it both in person and in writing.
• Flexible and self-directed: No two days look exactly the same here. You can shift gears when priorities change, manage your own time, and keep moving without someone standing over your shoulder.
• Attention to detail: You are extremely thorough and notice things others might miss. This is easy to say in words, harder to do in reality. In your cover letter, tell us your favorite snack. Our parts are the finest in the industry and require uncommon attention to detail.

What You'll Do

Everything we ship carries our reputation. Every part you touch is one that a top gunsmith or a major manufacturer is trusting to be perfect, and your work is a direct part of making that true.

• Deburr, hand-finish, and inspect parts. At the beginning, this will be the majority of your job. While every part is started on a CNC machine, every single one is finished by hand. Skilled parts processing is crucial to upholding our level of quality.
• Load and unload parts and raw material for the CNC machines.
• Operate basic shop equipment such as band saws, automatic saws, tumblers, and sandblasters.
• Package finished parts and prepare orders for shipment.
• Put together utility carts, shelving, racks, etc.
• Maintain shop cleanliness, including sweeping, cleaning spills, and scooping chips.
• Assist with machine setup, tool changes, and simple adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Comfortable with manual and power hand tools, and common measuring tools
• Familiarity with 3-axis to 5-axis CNC machines, or willingness to learn
• Some machine shop work experience or training is a plus
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
• Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement
• 40+ hour work week average
