Your responsibilities will include overseeing the messaging data in transit and ensuring the timely arrival of you, your loved ones, and all passengers worldwide. The applications you will manage are the backbone of over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting a staggering 75 million messages daily across the Aviation community.With our client, you will be part of a team whose mission is not just critical but also collaborative. Your value proposition is not just career growth but also the opportunity to make a societal impact, bringing personal achievement through work that truly matters.What YOU will do:• You will design and develop critical features within our proprietary software to move millions of messages across the globe.• You will support refactoring our proprietary software to a newer version of OpenJDK.• You will support the rapid development of DevSecOps pipelines for automated builds and testing in our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).• You will work closely with the Technical Lead, Architects, and other Software Engineers on a development team to support critical pursuits and opportunities to expand our aviation market.What YOU will learn:• You will learn how to develop enterprise applications that can scale from small customers to industry-leading airlines.• You will learn how our Messaging applications and services connect with aviation customers and partners.• You will learn about the aviation market and how communication systems are critical to airline operations.• You will learn to develop solutions with cross-discipline engineering teams.Qualifications You Must Have:• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.• Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications.• Experience with developing Java enterprise applications.• Excellent verbal skills.• Excellent documentation and writing skills.SkillsJava, sdlc, jms, agile, linux, osgi, devsecopsTop Skills DetailsJava,sdlc,jmsAdditional Skills & QualificationsQualifications We Prefer:• Experience with JMS to create, send, receive, and read messages.• Experience with developing Java applications with JMS and Messaging COTs.• Experience with OSGi in installing and developing bundles.• Experience with developing Java applications using Agile Development Methodology.• Experience working in a Linux operating environment.• Technical domain knowledge in the Aviation community.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
