Job Summary The Substance Use Counselor’s role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Substance Use Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to assist recovering individuals in preventing relapse and promoting long‑term recovery. The Substance Use counselor will use an outcomes‑based approach and evidenced‑based practices to achieve results. The compensation range is $60,000 - 80,000 annually, based on experience certification and licensing. The role requires occasional on‑call, and rotating Holiday coverage. Essential Job Functions Conduct confidential, quality assessments, that are gender‑responsive and trauma‑informed, utilizing ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care. Use a strengths‑based and trauma‑informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and internal and external Hygea Healthcare treatment team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery. Conduct individual, group, and family sessions, using evidence‑based modalities and interventions. Work with a diverse and passionate team of professionals who share your vision and values. Education and Experience Licensed Clinician: Possess a master's degree in a relevant field and hold the required licensure, such as LCPC, LCSW / LMSW, or LMFT / resident in marriage and family therapy. Experience in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment: Bring prior experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, witha preference for experience in detox practices. Crisis Management Skills: Proficient in providing support to clients during moments of crisis, equipped with effective verbal de‑escalation techniques. Collaborative Attitude: A team player who is dedicated to actively engaging in our mission to foster positive change.
