Cherokee County Solicitor‑General’s Office Investigator The Office of the Cherokee County Solicitor‑General has an opening for an Investigator. The essential function of a Solicitor‑General’s Investigator is to assist Assistant Solicitors‑General in the prosecution of misdemeanor criminal cases. Investigators are responsible for gathering and preserving evidence; working with law enforcement agencies to develop cases; interviewing/speaking to victims, witnesses and defendants; filing and serving subpoenas; assisting prosecutors in the courtroom and preparing cases for prosecution; assisting in the administration and organization of case files; mailing victim impact statements; and performing related clerical tasks. In addition, other related duties may be required and assigned. Minimum Qualifications Applicant must be a citizen of the United States, have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent, and not have been convicted by any state or the federal government of any crime. Applicant must be a current P.O.S.T certified Georgia Peace Officer willing to become a certified Drug Recognition Expert within 12 months of accepting employment. Applicant must demonstrate proficiency with a firearm. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s license. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre‑employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.
