Design Engineer II

Responsibilities Lead and support engineering activities for large‑scale product development programs, including feasibility investigation, performance design using 3‑D modeling software, and layout review with 2‑D drawing creation. Analyze and resolve engineering problems. Create part specification requirements and bill of materials, and negotiate with business units, component suppliers, and surrounding component teams. Validate designs by performing finite element analysis using available CAE/CFD software tools. Search for new ways to increase efficiency, use up‑to‑date technology, and reduce design and parts costs. Travel to client sites as needed. Work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. with approximately 5% domestic travel. Telecommuting option – employee must live in Ohio. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent education/experience) with at least three years of experience in the design and development of automotive components (plastics and/or sheet‑metal stampings).
