AI Tech Lead – Enterprise Applications

Compensation: $70 - $80/hr

About The Role

Our Fortune 100 Communications client is seeking a highly skilled AI Tech Lead to join their team. This individual will provide technical leadership across enterprise application initiatives while leveraging modern AI technologies to improve development efficiency, accelerate delivery, and enhance system performance. The AI Tech Lead will bridge architecture, engineering, data analysis, and operations, mentoring development teams and driving innovation through the strategic application of AI tools and technologies. You will partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, AI-enabled technology solutions across the organization. What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and support of large-scale enterprise applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams across multiple initiatives.
• Design and develop full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve coding efficiency, automate processes, and accelerate software delivery.
• Analyze production incidents, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
• Partner with architects and infrastructure teams to design scalable, cloud-native solutions within AWS environments.
• Develop and optimize database structures, queries, and integrations across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and related messaging technologies.
• Support continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), release management, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical solutions.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, or technical leadership roles.
• Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, and scalable application design.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance software development, code reviews, testing, and automation processes.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, IAM, and containerized deployments.
• Experience designing, developing, and optimizing SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies, including Kafka.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and enterprise deployment strategies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk, Datadog).
• Preferred: Knowledge of Keycloak, single sign-on (SSO), and identity management technologies.
• Preferred: Experience modernizing or migrating legacy.NET applications to Java-based microservices architectures.
• Preferred: Experience leveraging AI development tools such as Kiro, Aider, Devin.Ai, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
• Preferred: Previous experience within broadband, telecommunications, or large enterprise environments.
• Preferred: Experience leading geographically distributed teams and managing complex enterprise initiatives.
