OR Circulator

This position is for an OR Circulator. The shift time is 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, accounting for a half-hour lunch. No call, weekends, or holidays are required. The Surgery Center is open Monday through Thursday and is closed on Fridays. The unit has 4 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms. The average patient census per day is around 20. Patient types and common diagnoses include: GYN surgeries such as hysterectomies, hysteroscopies, and DNCs. Urology procedures including cystoscopies, lithotripsies, ureteral stent placements, reversals, and TURPs. Endoscopy procedures like EGDs and colonoscopies. Orthopedic surgeries focused on sports medicine. ENT surgeries such as tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, septoplasties, ear surgeries, and PE tube placements. Podiatry cases. UroGYN surgeries such as organ implants for incontinence, hysterectomies, bladder slings, and sling revisions, as well as A/P repairs. Pediatric GI MD visits, occurring once every 2 months. IVF assistance with egg retrieval and implantation. Pain injections. No robotics cases will be performed. Required skills include the ability to start IVs. Preference given to candidates comfortable administering moderate sedation. Support will be available through anesthesiologists, surgeons, other RNs, surgical techs, CRNAs for pain clinic injections, and other staff. Technology and equipment used include EMR, IV pumps, med dispensing systems, and unit-specific equipment. There is no floating required. Scheduling includes no weekend rotation, with the center closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no on-call requirement, although staying late to finish cases may occasionally occur. Holiday expectations will follow center closure. Requests for time off must be approved through management. Shift times can adjust slightly based on case completion. The scheduling cycle is set.
