Location, Status & Compensation Location: Orem Imaging Center Department: Medical Imaging – CT Status: PRN Compensation: $39.16 - $60.42 per hour, based on experience Job Description Summary As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic CT exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares patients for examinations. Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy. Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment. Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. Assists and instructs students and other CT Technologists regarding protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment operation. Provides patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns. Practices appropriate infection prevention and sterile techniques. Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality diagnostic images. Maintains accurate patient records, procedure documentation, and adverse reaction reporting. Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control programs, and reporting equipment failures. Current state licensure, where required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Preferred Qualifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (ARRT)(CT) Completion of controlled substance module, where applicable Completion of initial moderate sedation module, where applicable Facility-specific certifications as required Experience One (1) year or more of CT experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typical includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
