Title: Skillbridge Internship - Software Engineer (**ALL LEVELS)
**MUST be willing to get the TS/SCI CI Poly, if you do not already have one***
Will consider Secret clearances and above.
Location: Arlington, VA (Ballston area) - Black Cape HQ
We are ONLY Hiring SkillBridge Interns for the DMV (Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia) area at this time for our HQ Arlington, VA office. Once you convert to an FTE (Full Time Employee), we also would like you to stay in the DMV area in order to be able to go to a Customer Site 3 - 5 days per week. We have had almost a 100% conversion rate of SkillBridge Interns to FTE's, which is Awesome!
In Office Expectations: Internship would be in office 3-4 days per week. Might fluctuate based on Team Lead's Needs.
SKILLBRIDGE INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
Black Cape is seeking technologists who are actively using their software development skills and/or have a computer science background.
We are a Veteran-Owned Small Business with expertise in developing Mission Applications and applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to hard problems in the Government and Commercial Sectors.
Black Cape offers customized Internships designed to support the lifecycle of technology projects from inception to development, to leadership, to customer-interfacing, to transition. We are seeking candidates with a completed Bachelor of Science degree or candidates who are close to completion of a BS degree and/or a coding Bootcamp. A completed Associates degree may also be considered. Technical degrees are preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Information Systems, etc.).
We know this is a Skillbridge internship program that bridges the gap from your military training to practical application in the civilian technical world, but we have found that candidates with three to six months (or more) of technical experience usually thrive best in our program. This could come in the form of military experience using Data Science, Software Development, DevOps, Cloud Computing, or other related skills.

Black Cape has offices in Arlington, VA (HQ), and Austin, TX, and has small presences in Charlottesville, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Honolulu, HI, Tampa, FL and Miami, FL.

Our team develops and implements technical solutions on an aggressive schedule across the US Intelligence Community (IC) and the Department of Defense (DoD). We are considering Mid-Senior Level software engineers.
We are expanding and need to hire motivated engineers to help build innovative solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate needs limited direction and is passionate about technology. A willingness and desire to pick up new technologies or languages quickly is a must.

Required Technical Skills :
6 months - 1 year+ of some level of Technical experience (hopefully in software) needed for MOST of our opportunities
Proficient in at least ONE Object-Oriented language like Java, Python, C# or C++ - NOT All, just ONE OO language
Experience with at least ONE MVC framework, perhaps including Spring, Django, Flask or Rails
Experience with at least ONE relational database, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or sqlite3
Experience working with Linux distributions like Ubuntu, RedHat, or CentOS
Working knowledge of web application basics like HTML, REST, CSS, and JavaScript
Preferred Technical Skills:
Proficient in at least one scripting language like Python or Perl
Familiar with web server configuration on NGINX, Apache, or similar
Familiar with a JavaScript framework like Backbone, Angular, Ember or Vue.js
Familiar with Bootstrap and Less
Experience with NoSQL storage like ElasticSearch, Accumulo, MongoDB, HBase is a plus.
