Associate Director / Principal Scientist I, Precision Medicine Immunology

AbbVie seeks an experienced translational and biomarker scientist to lead precision medicine immunology initiatives supporting clinical development programs. The role involves developing biomarker strategies, managing translational projects, and ensuring scientific rigor across regulatory and commercial activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead translational and biomarker strategy development for one or more clinical programs
• Design, conduct, interpret, and report biomarker data aligned with development and regulatory strategies
• Direct asset-specific translational projects and teams in a matrix environment
• Author and review translational aspects of clinical documents, protocols, and regulatory submissions
• Lead scientific collaborations and key opinion leader interactions with internal and external partners

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, or MD with 4+ years pharma experience (or MS with 6+, BS with 10+)
• Strong scientific background in immunology with publication record
• Demonstrated leadership in translational sciences and biomarker development
• Experience with assay development including flow cytometry, gene profiling, IHC/IF, or ligand binding
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements, and protocol design
• Ability to manage translational programs and teams with moderate supervision
• Excellent written and oral communication with strong organizational skills
