PLUMBER JOURNEYMANMaintain all plumbing and related fixtures in such a manner that students have a safe, sanitary and comfortable place in which to learn.Educational Qualifications:Valid Texas Driver's License (submit copy with application)Must have demonstrated successful experience in plumbing or plumbing repairMust possess a working knowledge of plumbingMust be familiar with building machines and skilled in the use of toolsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Maintains and repairs or replacing parts to both internal and external plumbing systems.Maintains water system.Maintains sewer system.Maintains gas system.Performs preventive maintenance and replaces as necessary plumbing fixtures.Maintains and repairing water heaters.Assists with maintenance of boiler system when needed by HVAC service.Maintains and repairing sprinkler system.Maintains and repairing kitchen equipment.Assumes responsibility for proper maintenance and operation of all assigned vehicles and tools.Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, parts, and equipment.Work extra-curricular functions outside of regular assigned work schedule as requested to include football games, election days, weekends, etc.Works outside of regular assigned work schedule to repair and/or replace needed facilities to include night and/or weekend duty as requested.Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during regular business hours to confer with district personnel.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job responsibility unless instructed to work from home by supervisor.Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.Usage of personal equipment, including but not limited to personal cellular phone, personal computer, and personal internet service when working from home during a District closure due to government or Board order or during an emergency affecting normal District operations.Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor. All employees are expected to comply with lawful directives.Working Conditions:Reading; ability to understand verbal instructions. Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying.
