Full-time MRI Technologist PositionPosition Overview:Full-time MRI Technologist positionMonday through Friday8:30 AM to 5:00 PMLocated at the Imaging Center, approximately one mile from the main hospitalPrimarily outpatient imaging environmentParticipates in hospital MRI call rotation.Approximately every sixth weekendOne holiday per yearDepartment & Work Environment:Outpatient-focused MRI practiceScheduled patient appointments approximately every 30 minutesPredictable daily workflow with limited emergency or inpatient interruptionsSmall, close-knit imaging team consisting of:MRI Supervisor (working supervisor)CT TechnologistTwo X-Ray TechnologistsUltrasound TechnologistAdditional imaging staff totaling six direct reportsJob Duties, Tasks and Qualifications:Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones. Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.). Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan. Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment. Displays knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusts to ensure diagnostic images. Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
