Growing together.The Per Diem RN in Medical Imaging is responsible for providing direct patient care by applying special clinical nursing knowledge and skills related to the Medical Imaging setting. He or she will strive to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.Primary Responsibilities:Provide direct patient care for patients undergoing procedures in the imaging suite such as CT, MR, US, Radiography, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Cardi Lab where applicable Assist physicians and technologists with patient preparation for proceduresAssists during proceduresGather information. Responsible for appropriate labeling, handling, delivering and tracking of specimens from collection to reportingProvide health education information. Provide post procedure instructionsAEB: skill demonstration, observation, document audits, attendance at educational inservicesCare of patients: performs technical and supportive patient care skills including, but not limited to: Waived testingRespiratory careMedical emergency responseSafe and effective medication administrationPrioritization of urgent patient care needsIV skills, venipunctureCatheterization skillEKG monitoringAEB: skill demonstration, observation, attendance at educational inservices and log auditsInfection control: Provides environment to prevent and control the spread of disease within the clinical setting. Including, but is not limited to: Orders suppliesMaintains equipment to include departmental crash cart according to established clinic guidelinesAdheres to Clinic safety standards for employees, patients, and visitorsIdentifies and reports potential barriers for the safe provision of patient care and maintains a safe patient environmentSupports initiatives related to OSHA and accreditation standardsAEB: Physical survey of exam rooms. Maintenance of cleaning logs. Survey for non-functional equipment. Observation, skills demonstration. Attends quarterly EHS educationPatient Rights and Responsibilities: practices positive guest and peer relations. Supports and respects patient rights. CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapyExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsMinimum 8 shift per month, 4 shifts per year before or after clinic holidays, with 2 shifts related to summer holidays and 2 shifts related to winter holidaysPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in nursingSpecialty nursing certification applicable to medical imagingACLSExperience in a medical imaging setting/centerRIS experienceWindows computer experiencePay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
