Job Title : Remote Assistance Operator - Autonomous Vehicles (Onsite in Austin, TX)

We're hiring Remote Assistance Operators to play a key role in our Remote Operations Center . In this autonomous vehicle operator position, you'll provide continuous remote monitoring and real-time decision-making support for autonomous vehicles —no onboard safety driver required. Your quick thinking, situational awareness, and attention to detail will directly ensure fleet safety, support remote vehicle intervention when needed, and help advance fully driverless technology through AV remote assistance .

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively monitor assigned autonomous vehicles in real time using the Remote Command (RC) interface and multiple live camera feeds ( autonomous vehicle monitoring )
• Proactively intervene during edge cases using advanced system tools ( remote vehicle intervention )
• Log all interventions, observations, and events in real time (using tools like Notion or Google Sheets)
• Perform post-trip reviews, identify and flag anomalies for further investigation
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions and help build our edge-case knowledge base
• Track and report key operational metrics
• Deliver seamless shift handoffs by clearly communicating critical context to the incoming team

 

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in technical support, dispatch, operations, IT, transportation/logistics, or a similar fast-paced environment
• Strong decision-making skills under pressure and ability to stay calm in dynamic situations
• High attention to detail with disciplined documentation habits
• Basic understanding of autonomous vehicle systems (perception, planning, etc.) or a strong eagerness to learn quickly
• Comfortable working onsite in a 24/7 remote operations center

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Remote Assistance Operator or Teleoperations Operator (e.g., at Tesla, Cruise, Waymo, Zoox, Motional, or similar)
• Background in video gaming (high situational awareness, quick reflexes, multitasking)
• Familiarity with geolocation tools, Remote Command interfaces, log analysis, or event data
• Knowledge of perception and planning concepts in autonomous driving

 

Working Conditions & Schedule:

• Fully onsite at our Remote Operations Center
• Full-time (30+ hours/week), rotating shifts including weekends
• Available shifts: 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) or 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
• Flexibility across morning/evening shifts is a plus

 

Compensation & Assignment Details:

• Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
• 6-month contract assignment (potential for extension based on performance and company growth)
