Travel RN - TelemetryAmerican TravelerSalisbury, North Carolina, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,095.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a fast-paced cardiac and stroke unit requiring 2 years of cardiac tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.DetailsPrimary cardiac and stroke unit caring for pre/post procedure cardiac patients, pacemaker/ICD implants, cardiac catheterization, and new CVA/TIA patientsPatient ratios typically 1:5-6, which may fluctuate based on unit needsHigh-acuity, fast-paced environment with 78-90 patient turnovers per weekManages multiple cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone with titrationUtilizes telemetry, pulse ox, and high-flow O2 equipmentUses Pyxis and EPIC (Dimensions) for medication and documentation, with SBAR communicationNight shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15), 3x per week with option for 36 hoursWeekend requirement of every other weekend, including 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays within a 6-week periodFloating required within or near the facilityOn-call requirement with frequency depending on patient censusSelf-scheduling with leadership oversight; no block scheduling permitted13-week contract or longerRequirementsActive NC or compact RN license requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Telemetry experience required (hard requirement)Experience with IV starts, cardiac drips, and PCI patients requiredEPIC charting experience preferredExperience with arterial line management, central and peripheral line care requiredSkill in managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips requiredExperience with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram, pre/post cardiac cath, and TR bands requiredExperience managing patients on non-invasive airway support and oxygen administration requiredAdditional InformationUnit includes a team lead to assist with admissions and dischargesUnit may house COVID-positive patients using opti-flow and BiPAP during surgesHospital orientation is 36 hours; travelers must be available every day during week oneNavy or white scrubs permitted, along with Novant t-shirts; matching jackets required and no open-toe crocs allowedMust work 2 of the 3 major holidaysRTO requests of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignmentLocal candidates within 50 miles accepted at the same rateFirst-time travelers will be considered if they meet the 2-year cardiac telemetry experience requirementFormer Novant Health or New Hanover employees (perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before reapplying and disclose prior employment detailsTravel pairs are allowed if assigned to different units and disclosed at submissionCandidates must complete required testing within 48 hours of signing
