SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Senior Management AnalystThe Newport Beach Municipal Operations Department seeks a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as a Senior Management Analyst assigned to Trash & Recycle. This position will oversee the development of the Trash & Recycle Division work plan and methods; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor the work of contractors performing refuse collection work for the City; and implement policies and procedures and develop new or modified systems, policies and procedures. The position will also develop and implement refuse collection routes and schedules; and inspect work sites and collection routes before, during and after completion to assure work is completed in a satisfactory and thorough manner. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future Senior Management Analyst vacancies throughout the City.Selection Components:Application Evaluation: Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis with the first review date of Thursday, May 28, 2026 or until 150 applications are received- whichever occurs first. The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 8% (or half the normal cost, whichever is higher) of pay towards the retirement benefit.Additional Physical Requirements and Environmental Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment and may require occasional travel to off-site facilities, which could involve exposure to outdoor temperatures and inclement weather; equipment noise, equipment vibrations, vehicle and/or chemical fumes, chemicals such as cleaning solvents and grease, machinery and their moving parts, dust and water/moisture.Experience & Education and License/Certificate: A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible professional level administrative experience. Public sector experience is highly desirable. Education: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, public administration, economics, or a related field. License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.Please Note: Candidates deemed most qualified, as reflected in their application materials, will be invited to continue in the recruitment process.
