MedStar Health is looking for a Newborn Hearing Screener to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!

As a Newborn Hearing Screener, you will perform a variety of technical and data management responsibilities for the newborn hearing screening program of the Department of Otolaryngology - Audiology Division. You will assist with the daily activities of the newborn hearing screening program.

Primary Duties:

1. Conducts newborn hearing screenings using both otoacoustic emissions and automated auditory brainstem response testing equipment.

1. Identifies which babies to screen and follows correct infant handling procedures. Screening is done according to written clinic protocol as evidenced by competency-based skills training.

1. Performs data management duties related to the screening program. Enters screening results into the tracking system and follow-up letters are generated and mailed to the appropriate people.

1. Maintains newborn hearing screening equipment, following appropriate manufacturer guidelines and infection control protocol.

1. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Some experience with computers preferred.

On the job training is required, after which both written and practical assessments must be passed.

This position has a hiring range of USD $18.70 - USD $32.72 /Hr.
